Sedgwick County Conservation District Annual Meeting
The Sedgwick County Conservation District serves residents of Sedgwick County, administering State cost-share assistance for landowners wanting to conserve water and soil ranging from terraces and waterways to well-plugging and septic tank replacement. In addition, outreach and education services are provided.
20th Annual Bootlegger’s Ball
The Bootlegger’s Ball is the primary fundraising event of the year for the Wichita Family Crisis Center. All funds raised support service to nearly 1,300 women, children and men in our community who are fleeing domestic violence through emergency shelter and outreach programming.
Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame
Junior Achievement annually honors members of the Kansas business community who have shown an ability to be successful not only in business, but in their commitment to the local community and the state as a whole. 2019 Laureates are Tim Buchanan, Legend Companies; Tim Farrell, Weaver Manufacturing; and Chris Goebel, Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc.
2nd Annual Clean Water 5K Run/Walk
Wichita First Church of the Nazarene partners with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Africa to bring life to villages through the construction of safe wells and clean water education. The 2nd Annual Clean Water 5K Run/Walk supports this work in Africa.
The Heartspring Autism CARE Walk brings together thousands of autism advocates annually to raise awareness for individuals impacted by autism in our community. Proceeds from the walk benefit Heartspring’s Autism Services program which provides services to local children impacted by autism and their families.
Wine, Women and Shoes
This annual, sold-out fundraiser supports ailing children in Kansas. Funds raised at Wine, Women and Shoes, provides individual assistance (paying for medications or durable medical equipment) and programs and services (music therapy, support groups, car seats, etc.) to sick children and their families.
