What is Fidelity Bank’s Routing Number?

ROUTING #301171353

7/11/2019

The number above is the routing number for Fidelity Bank. But what does this mean and what is a routing number used for?

A routing number is a string of nine digits used by banks or financial institutions when transferring money from one account to another. You may need to use a routing number when transferring money, processing checks, setting up automatic payments, using direct deposit or when filing your taxes.

The easiest way to find your routing and account numbers is to look at the bottom of your checks. As shown below, the routing number is the string of nine digits on the bottom left. The account number is the 13-digit number in the center, and the individual check number is the four-digit code on the farthest right.

It’s important to note that not all checks have this format. Some checks start with the account number on the left. Others have the check number in the center. However, you can always tell what each number represents by the symbol around the number. The “|:” symbol denotes the routing number while the “||■” symbol signifies the account number. These symbols are used by scanners when reading checks and are uniform across all checks.

Since routing numbers are essentially public information and are identical across all customers of the bank, it’s not imperative to keep this number private. However, it is important to safeguard all financial information, especially your account number since that number is unique to you and your account.
