The Fidelity Bank Foundation has approved a grant for The Opportunity Project (TOP) to fund Early Learning Center scholarships for children whose parents have lost their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to a match of this gift, 27 children in the Wichita area will be able to access critical education programs despite the financial challenges facing their families.

The Fidelity Bank Foundation has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Sedgwick County Zoo in support of the park’s 25-year master plan. The grant will provide the Zoo with an annual $50,000 disbursement for five years, with the funds earmarked for the construction of a new entry complex to honor the organization’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2021.

Fidelity Bank has made a $15,000 donation to the Via Christi Foundation to aid in the local production of plastic face shields for frontline caregivers at Ascension Via Christi. This grant is part of a $30,000 commitment from the Via Christi Foundation toward the goal of creating 7,000 high quality face shields. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, these shields are a part of a critical shortage of medical supplies facing healthcare providers across the nation.

As part of the program Fidelity Bank will donate $50 for every home run hit by a Wind Surge player during home games at Riverfront Stadium, and the Wind Surge will be matching those funds dollar-for-dollar. The benefitting organization is League 42, which makes youth baseball accessible to urban children in the community, opening them up to the many benefits of participating in this team sport.
