Fidelity Bank Foundation Awards $250,000 Grant to Sedgwick County Zoo

The Fidelity Bank Foundation has awarded a $250,000 grant to the Sedgwick County Zoo in support of the park’s 25-year master plan. The grant will provide the Zoo with an annual $50,000 disbursement for five years, with the funds earmarked for the construction of a new entry complex to honor the organization’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2021.

Fidelity Bank grants $75,000 to virtual learning assistance programs

Access to quality education is critical to empowering the next generation of leaders to reach their great potential and, in turn, strengthen our community. Unfortunately, some young people face barriers to learning which are being exacerbated by the health pandemic. This is why Fidelity Bank has granted $75,000 in support of two initiatives assisting at-risk youth with their virtual learning, The Boys & Girls Club Teen Learning Academy (TLA) and It Takes a Village/USD 259 My School Remote Learning & Transition to Adulthood Program.

Fidelity Bank helps select winners of NXTSTAGE FinTech competition

Griffin Technologies and Bellwethr have been named the winners of NXTUS’ 2020 NXTSTAGE Pilot Competition, which featured eleven financial technology (FinTech) startups from across the nation vying for the opportunity to have their solutions piloted by financial institutions that include Fidelity Bank, INTRUST Bank and Emprise Bank.

Clark and Sharon Bastian, Fidelity Bank give $500,000 to WSU business school

Wichita State University alums Clark and Sharon Bastian have pledged $250,000 and Fidelity Bank has contributed a matching amount to make a total gift of $500,000 in support of WSU's campaign to fund a new state-of-the-art home for the W. Frank Barton School of Business. This amount is in addition to financial gifts from members of the Bastian family and the Fidelity Bank Foundation in 2018, which totaled $1 million.

Fidelity Bank and the Fidelity Bank Foundation have made a $27,500 donation to Wichita’s Real Men Real Heroes (RMRH) in support of the organization’s mission to provide male role models to empower youths and build strong communities. These funds will go to meet the needs of the underserved whose situations have been exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.

As the leader of a fourth generation, family-owned business here in Wichita, I believe it is important that the community we serve knows where we stand. We have found success in our home town, and that success comes with a responsibility to play a meaningful role in our shared progress. Sometimes that is speaking to Wichita’s great potential and celebrating triumphs. In more difficult times, it is resolving to not remain silent as hatred and violence threaten to irreparably divide us.

Jeff Ronen to retire July 31

Executive Vice President Jeff Ronen will be retiring from Fidelity Bank as director of commercial banking on July 31, 2020. Ronen has worked for Fidelity Bank and Oklahoma Fidelity Bank for more than 10 years, beginning as a commercial lender in 2010 and being named market president of Oklahoma Fidelity Bank in 2014 before moving back to Wichita to lead bank-wide commercial lending, treasury management and private banking activities.
